David Sedaris is my friend

April 4, 2007

Tonight we’re seeing David Sedaris at the Tilles Center and I can’t wait. I’ve seen him live once before and thought he was genius: he keeps track of the audience laughter in each piece and told us in the lengthy Q&A afterwards that some pieces work better read out loud and others work best in print only. I will post tomorrow and let you know if tonight’s performance is equally as brilliant.

No one loves the writing of David Sedaris more then I. He is a solitary sister. BUT: seeing him with you at Westbury Music Hall a few years ago was soooo boring. I’d much rather read his work myself then fall asleep to him reading his stories aloud in his nasel, whiny voice. That’s why he is a writer. We are not talking about a Barbra Streisand concert. That’s genius! Please have a good time and let me know when his next book is coming out.
