April Events at WORD

The start of a new month means there are things to report! In this case, it is our lineup of events happening at the store this month:

TONIGHT at 7:30pm and Saturday, April 4 at noon: WORD Book Club discussions about Walter Kirn’s Mission to America.

Thursday, April 9 at 7:30pm:

The first event of a new series at WORD: YA NOT? A literary salon for not-so-young adults. We begin with Terra Elan McVoy, author of, Pure. Terra and her editor, Anica Rissi, will have a conversation about the book, YA fiction in general, and whatever else comes up! The night will include a short reading, book signing, and cupcakes with cherries on top.

Tuesday, April 14 at 7:30pm:

We celebrate National Poetry Month with a release party for Rick Reid, author of To be hung from the ceiling by strings of varying length, the latest in the Black Goat poetry series, presented by Akashic Books.

Sunday, April 26 from 12 noon – 3 pm: 

Our first Stationery Swap! We know we’re not the only folks that use half a box of stationery and then get sick of it.  Bring your extra cards and stationery to WORD and trade with others – refresh and liven up your correspondence materials!  (If you can’t make it but want to free up some room in your desk drawers, just drop off your stationery beforehand.)

Wednesday, April 29 at 7:30pm:

We host our next Indie Press Night with Soft Skull Press. Reading and signing with authors Pasha Malla (The Withdrawal Method) and Zachary Mexico (China Underground).
